[Video] Aquarian Solstice (Sunrise Flow VIP)

I recorded this take in my garden while it was in full August bloom. While I always try to consider a sense of surreal or synthetic environment in my tracks, and my unexpected new hobby of designing a zen garden was a chance to work with corporeal flora beyond the synthetic. I thought this would be a great place to connect these two opposing yet related worlds – the imagined ones I build with sound and this physical one in my tiny back yard. Every plant in the garden (except the burning bush) is less than a year old here. I'm excited to watch it modulate from the unclocked forces of nature in the coming years. Aquarian Solstice was commissioned by 7K! Music (a division of !K7 Records) and originally released on "Wind Layers" (June 2021). This variance in production was recorded for the Festival of New Trumpet Music and premiered on FONT: Brass without Borders, September 2021.
