Event Three

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Tides: Euphotic w/ inmixedcompany @ West End Theater

"'Tides: Euphotic' - I'm beginning what I hope will be a long-term exploration of coastal tides and performance. Basically, I want to build work about water and I want to have reasons to go to the shore. Euphotic Zone is the upper, light-filled area of a body of water. Where photosynthesis occurs." – Maura Donohue

Third Coast Percussion: CURRENTS @ Constellation

Third Coast Percussion premieres DEMOCRACY LOOKS LIKE, the first overtly politically-themed thing i've ever done. it's for amplified Kalimbas and MIDI controllers processed through Ableton Live. it's built in a call/response structure with protest march chant rhythms you'd recognize if you hit the streets for Eric Garner and Mike Brown. and Third Coast Percussion is in Chicago and I love TEKLIFE so there's some footwork-inspired beats in there.

Adam Cuthbert arranged his piece, universe explosion for double quartet and octave-dropped cello. The program also features music by Bruce Hobson and Missy Mazzoli.

This concert is generously supported by Equinox Music and the Center for New Music.

zero...sixty @ Roulette

Legendary dancer/choreographer Maura Donohue and I team up for an event of unrelenting sound and motion.  In a continuation of our duo's previous projects such as present.tense(progressive), Ongoing Motion, and KuuMA, Directives  will explore in-the-moment decisions, plunging through the fear of "I'm not certain what happens next".

More details soon, but I have a feeling this will be one of the coolest projects to date.
